The little wave

I live in a community where people especially our neighbors still wave at each other. It is nice to acknowledge another’s existence and caring. They watch out for us and we watch out for them. This morning I walked to the mailbox and I smelled that sweet smell of honeysuckle. When I smiled to myself I looked up and started walking back to the house and I looked over and saw my neighbor wave a little hello.
When our other neighbor had a stroke another neighbor was at her side. When my husband had a PTSD moment our neighbors were there to help. This is what I call community. This little wave is a symbol of having your back in times of need. I wish there was more of this in our country!
